On Saturday 23rd October four bands gathered at Caterham St Mary for this year's Eight Bell Striking Competition.  The Benhilton Practice Night band rang first and completed their Grandsire Triples with the Caterham St John/Godstone band similarly following.  Kingston rang Cambridge Surprise Major third with Croydon completing the afternoon with Grandsire Triples.

Sheila Cheesman had started the afternoon by commenting on "The first shall become last and the last shall come first" and that is how it turned out when Michael Moreton gave the results and some anecdotes.  So, Croydon regained the Pat Cannon Trophy with 29 faults from last year's winners Kingston with 58
